As guests entered the tent they were greeted by two stilt walkers and a circus themed evening. This milestone celebration was a scrumptious gala of over 30 of the most celebrated restaurants in New York City and the Hamptons. Guests indulged their appetites for the savory and the sweet, mixed and mingled, and placed their bids on exciting auction items, all while collaborating to fund science's quest for a cure for cancer.
Event host, CBS 2 News anchor Chris Wragge began the pouring of champagne in a six foot champagne tower to celebrate this year's event marking the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. The honorees for the evening were philanthropist, Emmy winning television personality, New York Times best-selling author and breast cancer survivor, Sandra Lee, founder of the Surf Lodge in Montauk, Jayma cardoso, and CEO of the luxury fashion company Lafayette, Deirdre Quinn.
