The 26th Annual Bartenders & The 26th annual Bartenders & Chefs Ball “Buccaneer Bash” actually consisted of a trilogy of events that included a “Most Valuable Bartender Competition”, “Most Valuable Chef Competition”. To date, the perennial fundraiser has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital.
The Most Valuable Bartender Competition was held January 28, 2008 at Glass Ultra Lounge where Jesse Roenbeck (below left) of T.G.I. Friday’s in Lake Grove took home the coveted crown of Most Valuable Bartender. (Click here for review)
The Most Valuable Chef Competition was held March 18, 2008 at the state of the art Suffolk County Community College Culinary Arts/ Hospitality Center where Chef John Montgomery (above right) of Sea Levels Restaurant in Brightwaters took home the coveted crown of Most Valuable Chef. The grand finale of these events was the pirate themed “Buccaneer Bash” held on Monday March 31, 2008 at Hyatt Regency Wind Watch Hotel in Hauppauge where hundreds of swashbucklers dropped anchor to help raise money for the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital.
