The Huntington Historical Society hosted their 23rd Annual Evening Of Wine Under The Stars event at the Dr. Daniel W. Kissam House in Huntington on the evening of Friday, September 6, 2013. The Huntington Historical Society is an organization firmly dedicated to preserving history, striving to evolve and preserve the history and charm of the town of Huntington.

All guests received a complimentary wine glass to use for the night that was free to take home as a memento. Bottles and Cases provided numerous wines for tasting throughout the evening (above right). The Culinary Studio (below left) offered three chilled salads. One was Mexican style with chicken, corn and black beans, the next was a green bean salad and the other was a bow tie pasta with chunks of parmesan. They were all delicious. Christopher's Courtyard Cafe (below right) had fresh ribs with meat so tender it fell off the bone. 

Old Fields' (above left) display was a mountain of ice with fresh oysters on the half shell (above right) laid over it. California Pizza Kitchen (below left) served their Four Cheese Ravioli stuffed with Asiago, Mascarpone, Ricotta and Parmesan tossed in Pomodoro cream sauce with basil. Ruvo (below right) had Butternut Squash Ravioli with sage and capers, which was unique and tasty.

Mitchell Hauser, owner of Crew (above left) was there with his son. Together, they served tuna tartar over watermelon salad. This dish is refreshing with fresh tuna and fresh, crisp watermelon. Mirabelle At Three Village Inn (below left) served beef stew with mashed potatoes. This stew was savory and hearty with carrots, mushrooms and celery. Blue Point Brewing Company (below right) served their famous Pumpkin Ale and Pale Ale on tap.

A live cover band (below right) played many hits. Towards the close of the evening the dance floor was packed with everyone dancing and grooving to the beat.

There were numerous raffle baskets, providing opportunities to win great prizes (below left). This event fundraiser was held to honor Maurine, Dean and Marie Failey. The event was once again a great success featuring a wonderful evening of fine wines, gourmet foods, live music, fantastic raffles and auction items.
