The
54th Summer Fancy Food Show 2008
Produced by the
NASFT since 1955, is North America's largest specialty food and beverage marketplace.
This incredible event held at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan showcases thousands
upon thousands of vendors from around the world presenting about 200,000 samples in what
is North America's largest specialty food event.
Some
of this year's exhibitors had fun with a little election year humor, including Dave's
Gourmet Democrat Hot Sauce and the one of a kind giant head sculptures of the three major
presidential hopefuls made entirely out of hummus (above right). Sabra of Astoria commissioned Kirk
Rademaker, the winner of The Travel Channel's Sandblasters to carve these heads out of
over 100 pounds of their specialty hummus.
David
Tomberlin Of Well Dressed Food (above left) brought a wonderful array of all natural and
delicious specialty jams, honeys, sauces and more. The Leonardo Da Vinci inspired company
Valesco (above right) brought a savory assortment of olives and antipastos.
What’s great about this
show is that most exhibitors are entrepreneurs who developed the recipe and started the
company, so you can learn about the products and do business with decision-makers. We can
go on and on about this event, however it is much better to experience it for yourself.
