Long Island Food Critic

The 21st Annual Great Chefs of Long Island, hosted by the Family Service League, took place December 8th at the elegant Crest Hollow Country Club. The Family Service League has been helping individuals, children and families to mobilize their strengths and improve the quality of their lives at home, in the workplace and in the community, for over 85 years.

This year, the Family Service League honored Joe Secreti of Cactus Salon & Spas with the Corporate Leadership Award, Joseph Shaffery with the Vaughan Spilsbury Advocacy Award, and Ted Ryder with the Community Leadership Award.

Previous Great Chefs of Long Island events featured a plethora of restaurants and wineries alongside some of their more delectable offerings. This event held true to that fashion, with more than 40 restaurants and chefs participating with their signature dishes and many fantastic wines from around the world.

This event always provides a great way to help out a worth-while cause while sampling some of the best cuisine that Long Island has to offer. Don't miss the 22nd Annual Great Chefs of Long Island, which will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014.
