Long Island Food Critic

Island Harvest is the largest hunger relief organization on Long Island. They rely on their generous volunteers, in-kind services and donated food and 95 cents of every dollar contributed goes directly to the benefit of their programs.

This year Island Harvest celebrates 21 amazing years of service. Since their birth in 1992, they've distributed over 79 million pounds of food to those in need across Long Island.

They've also been actively engaged in education, outreach and advocacy programs, as well as referral services to help those in crisis.

The 20th annual Taste of the Harvest Celebration was held at the exquisite Crest Hollow Country Club on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. This event was held to benefit Island Harvest and honor Jeff Tempone, CEO of East Coast Refrigeration and Greta Farrell, Island Harvest's Outstanding Student Volunteer.

Because of the support of very generous sponsors, participating restaurants and over 550 attendees, the event was able to raise over $309,000 for our neighbors in need.
