DeSilva of East Northport received the Pioneer Award, which recognizes leadership in the hospitality industry,
at the Long Island Chef n’ Bar-B-Que,
June 15, at Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead. The event benefits the Fortunato
Breast Health Center and breast cancer treatment at Mather Hospital.

honored for his years of accomplishment in the industry and for community
service work. Sara Southard of Port Jazz in Port Jefferson took home the coveted crown of Most Valuable Bartender at the Long Island
Chef n’ Bar-B-Que for best tasting and most original drink. Thomas
Schaudel of A
Mano Osteria and Wine Bar in Mattituck took
home the distinguished crown of Most Valuable Chef for his spontaneous creation
using the required ingredients of red snapper and tequila.
