13th Annual Bar & Restaurant Show

The 13th Annual Bar & Restaurant Show was held on Tuesday, June 26th and Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. This two day event is the East Coast's premiere trade event and featured over 200 exhibitors (some of which are pictured below), 21 seminars, tastings, drink demos, mocktails and much more!

This year the event was geared towards on-premise food and beverage professionals.
It is the largest show of its kind featuring new products and innovations, new and established brands, products and services for industry professionals, educational programs, show demonstrations, drink competitions, etc. 

A huge highlight at the show this year was the  Worlds First "Mocktail" Drink Competition. As the name suggests, participating mixologists were asked to design a non-alcoholic "mocktail" bar drink that would appeal to designated drivers, using Ocean Spray products as the main ingredients. The entry proceeds from the competition benefited The Hero Campaign For Designated Drivers - a campaign encouraging more people to become sober designated drivers in order to reduce the number of drunken driving fatalities and injuries in our nation.

Other special highlights included a prestigious Wine and Spirit Competition, 15 Minute Bartender Clinic and Cooking and Pairing Demonstrations with Chef J. Geoffrey Johnson. The event was yet again a big success and it was apparent a good time was had by all who attended.
