Chelsea Mansion
Thursday, September 19, 2013

The Taste Of Nassau at Chelsea Mansion was a delectable event featuring food and wine tastings from restaurants across Nassau County. Guests were welcome to taste the finest delicacies from favorite Nassau restaurants while supporting Games For The Physically Challenged. A tent was set up attached to the back of the mansion. The decor was white and modern with little square tables scattered around.

Seasons 52 (above left) offered an assortment of desserts in shot glasses. The three flavors displayed were pecan pie, red velvet and rocky road. The Divine Olive (above right) had samples of a variety of fine oils and vinegars. A few flavors were Basil Olive Oil, Shallot Garlic Olive Oil and White Honey Ginger. Bite sized chunks of bread were supplied for dipping.

Maggie's (above left) served mussels and moist rice balls with pesto sauce, of which he was eager to serve. Vincent's (above right) offered penne pasta with Vincent's "World Famous" sauce and perfectly seasoned meatballs.

Zorn's (above left) served their popular crispy sesame chicken and chicken francaise. J-Lynn's Delectable Desserts (above right) offered treats such as rainbow cookies, red velvet cupcakes, apple crumble bars and espresso brownies. Her espresso brownies were velvety smooth with the compatible flavors of espresso and rich chocolate.

Marco Polo at the Viana Hotel and Spa (above left) served their Chicken Francaise Egg Roll. It was savory and like a chicken pot pie in an eggroll. They handed out the recipe for this surprisingly easy-to-make and delicious dish. Ciao Baby (below left) had Lobster Tortellini, which was five cheese tortellini in a truffle cream sauce with caramelized onions, toasted mushrooms and spinach topped with fresh lobster meat. It was a wonderful medley of flavors.

Agua Enerviva (above left) was promoting their great tasting water with electrolytes. This all natural, energy boosting beverage comes in Maté Lemonade, Strawberry Kiwi, Fruit Punch, Orange Passionfruit and Pomegranate Berry. Kari Hari (above center) showcased their award winning artisanal chocolate, gourmet olive oil, balsamic vinegar and unique condiments from Italy. They offered goody bags upon request. Sweet Lucille's Desserts display received lots of attention (above right). Assorted pastries were put on display on a human table wearing a red dress complete with sparkly red lipstick.

DJ Chef, Marc Weiss "The Chef That Rocks," was the DJ for the event playing the latest hits at full volume. The Twilight Jazz Group (above right) played music inside, creating a more relaxed atmosphere as opposed to the upbeat music played outside under the tent. Manhattan Beer Distributors and Raphael Vineyard were there as well, providing the beverages for the evening. The Taste of Nassau certainly was a successful event filled with delicious food and music.
