Every year, just before Thanksgiving, the Vanderbilt Mansion is transformed by volunteers into a festive facade. Visitors will find the mansion replete with lighted trees, vintage ornaments, wreaths, and garlands of silver and gold.
Accompanied by this yuletide transformation is a decadent holiday dinner in the glass-walled Northport Porch. Included with the dinner, which always sells out quickly, is a tour of the mansion, cocktails in the galleries, and dessert in the Lancaster Room.
It was truly a feast for all the senses, with tastes and sights befitting the grandeur that is the historic Vanderbilt Mansion.
