A Bagel Store & A Whole Lot More You’ll find The Original Bagel Boss in Hicksville on South Oyster Bay Road, nestled in the Staples shopping center. They have been making and selling bagels 24 hours a day since 1975.
Bagel
Boss is a traditional Jewish eatery under rabbinical supervision and follow very
strict guidelines. They offer so many delicious, kosher friendly items, you can get
just about anything you are in the mood for. There is a cozy café area indoors that
you can dine in and outdoor seating is also available weather permitting.
You’ll
find every kind of bagel you can think of here. We began our dining experience with
a soft, fresh Sesame Bagel with Cream Cheese and Lox (above right). It’s a traditional
representation and if you enjoy lox, we highly suggest you order this.
They’re very generous with the amount of fresh lox on the bagel and it’s served
on a bed of lettuce garnished with capers. We
were very surprised with just how delicious their Veggie Burger was (below left). Served on fresh
Challah bread, the burger was extremely tasty and topped with assorted fresh
vegetables. All ingredients combine to create a healthy vegetarian delight.
The
Wasabi Sesame Crusted Tuna is served over grilled, paper thin, fresh vegetables
(above right). The
tuna was remarkably fresh, perfectly pan seared and nicely seasoned. It presents a
hint of spicy wasabi flavoring, but nothing too outrageous. Another
traditional Jewish item done really well here are the Cheese Blintz (below left). Served with a
side of sour cream for dipping, they’re sweet, fresh and served warm which is an
added bonus.
Bagel
Boss also carries a full line of bakery items. We were treated to a special dessert
platter featuring freshly baked indulgences like Apple Turnovers, Marble Pound Cake,
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cupcakes and much more (above right).
