Fisherman’s Catch Restaurant is a water view restaurant out in Point Lookout that offers an incredible view along with incredible food. In the warmer months you can travel by boat, dock right outside the restaurant and dine al fresco in their outdoor dining area.
The interior of the restaurant features a noticeable nautical theme as there is scattered fish décor throughout, including a large replica shark that hangs from the high, wooden ceiling in the center of the dining room. The nicely sized bar area features additional seating and there is also a large, private party room available for special occasions and events (below right).
As we perused the extensive menu our server warmly greeted us with a breadbasket filled with fresh Italian Bread, Cinnamon Raisin Bread and Biscuits (below left).
We
began our dining experience with the Asian Lobster Roll (above right). This popular,
outstanding appetizer features fresh lobster meat and perfectly cooked julienne
vegetables rolled in a thin rice wrap, fried and served with a side of sesame ginger
sauce. We were pleasantly surprised at the large amount of plump lobster found
inside the wrap and the sesame ginger sauce was an ideal complement. The Chicken Bruschetta is a standout chicken dish on the menu that is praised by customers and us as well (below left)! The chicken cutlet is coated with Parmesan and Romano cheeses, breadcrumbs and covered in a fresh tomato salsa accompanied with rice. The chicken cutlets were ever so crispy, yet still managed to melt in our mouths and the rice was cooked to perfection. We didn’t leave the slightest bit of leftovers on the plate and this exceptional entrée became the dish we talked about for the remainder of the evening.
You
cannot visit Fisherman’s Catch without sampling the “Fisherman’s Catch” entrée
(above right). This remarkable seafood dish is cleverly named after the restaurant
and it surely lives up to its name. This signature dish is topped with split lobster
tail, tossed with shrimp, scallops, mussels and a market fish, sautéed with fresh
tomatoes, basil and garlic in a wine sauce – all over al dente linguine. This
bountifully portioned dish is presented beautifully and all the seafood was tender,
delicious and prepared exquisitely. It is necessary we mention that the lobster
tails featured in this dish are from true, South African lobsters – a rare and
scrumptious find. Before taking on two delicious desserts we were treated to a Grilled Shrimp And Goat Cheese Salad that presented jumbo shrimp on a plate of mixed baby greens, crumbled goat cheese and roasted red peppers with a balsamic vinaigrette (below left). The shrimp were of excellent quality, plump and nicely char grilled. It was a light and delightful final entrée.
For dessert we were treated to two homemade delicacies – the Tiramisu and the Homemade Apple Crisp. The tiramisu is a favorite amongst customers and we can surely see why (above right). It is unbelievably creamy, beautifully presented and all around an excellent homemade treat. The apple crisp was warm and tasty and proved the chef to be a double threat as he can create amazing desserts and entrees alike (below left)!
The
well-suited motto at Fisherman’s Catch is, “From Our Ships To Your Lips”. A
large majority of all the seafood served at the restaurant comes straight from their
boats (above right). From one man, Garvey, who catches clams by hand, to the
100-foot trawlers – these fishermen are an integral part of the business. You
can’t go wrong at Fisherman’s Catch Restaurant. Where else can you dock and dine
with spectacular food and a breathtaking view anywhere closer than Maine?
